Gawahati University was established in the year 1948 as the first university of North East India. The university is located at Gawahati.The universiy is termed as a four star university rated by National Assessment and Accredation Council. Governer of Assam is the Chancellor of the university while Professor Okhil Kumar Medhi is the Vice Chancellor of the university. The university is affiliated to UGC and it has an urban campus. There are total 183 colleges affiliated to this university. The university actually came into existence by an act of the State Legislature named Gawahati University Act, 1947.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates should have educational qualification as per latest UGC/AICTE norms. Candidates are also required to have few years of experience in the relevant field.

Application Fee:

Rs. 1000 (for SC/ST candidates its Rs. 500) in the form of a Demand Draft is need to be paid as the application fee by interested candidates. The Demand Draft should be made in favour of Registrar, gauhati University and its should be payable at SBI, GU Branch.
