This college is popularly known as S.J.M.V.S.’s Arts and Commerce College for Women a as is understood by its names, the college is running under the control of Shree Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sangha. The college is exclusive meant for education to women and it is a full-fledged arts and commerce college accredited with A grade status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It is an oldest institution with large number of students from rural background. The college offers arts and commerce education with affiliation from the Karnataka State Women’s University.

Eligibility requirements for UG and PG Courses:

Candidates, who have completed their second year PUC examination conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka and who have passed the job-oriented pre-university Diploma of State Examination conducted by the State Council and director of Vocational Education are eligible to apply to the UG courses offered by the college. Even candidates, who have passed their equivalent examination from states other than Karnataka are eligible to seek admission to the UG course if they can obtain eligibility requirement from the Karnataka State Open University.

As far as eligibility for Master of Commerce course is concerned, candidates must have completed their Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration course from a recognized university in the state of Karnataka or any other equivalent university located in other states in India.
