The TamilNadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University has gained recognition by producing efficient and diligent students. This is the only Medical College in Tamil Nadu who has granted affiliation to many government and private medical, paramedical colleges. These colleges have a wide range of courses.  Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) from this university is very famous. This course covers an overall aspect of dental surgery in depth. This is a four year degree course. In the first paper there is a paper called Materials used in Dentistry.

About the Subject

This paper mainly deals with various types of dental materials, idea of dental cements, implants, dye and etc. Students are made aware of these materials so that they can use it properly when needed, checking the condition of the patient.

Paper pattern

The subject code for this paper is 4133. All the questions in this paper are to be answered. There are two types of questions; essay and short notes.  There are two essay type questions and ten short notes type. Considering the fact that no options are there in the paper, student must prepare the subject extremely well.

Marks distribution

The materials used in Dentistry paper carries a total of 100 marks. The long type questions are of 20 marks each and short notes type questions are of 6 marks each.

Time limitation

Maximum three hours time is given to students to complete this paper.
