North Eastern Railway (NER) was established on 14th April 1952 to serve the regions of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand & western districts of Bihar. Initially, NER consisted of two Railway Zones. Today, NER includes three Divisions - Varanasi, Lucknow & Izatnagar after being reorganized in 2002. It was NER which introduced the first computerized passenger reservation system. NER is well developed as it provides numerous advantages like recorded coach guidance display system, reservation availability position information display, interactive voice responsive system, electronic display systems at stations, etc.
Job Profile:
North Eastern Railway invites applications from eligible Ex-servicemen for the post of Helper II.

Pay Scale - Rs. 5200-20200 with GP of Rs. 1800
Eligibility:
Age criteria - The age criteria for the post as on 01.01.2011 must be as follows:
UR candidates must have 33 yrs + extent of military service + 3 yrs; SC/ST candidates must have 38 yrs + extent of military service + 3 yrs; and OBC candidates must have 36 yrs + extent of military service + 3 yrs.
Qualification - Ex-Serviceman who has retired after 15 years of service can apply for the post. The candidates must have passed Army class-1 certificate or equivalent.
Selection Process:
Selection for the post is based on merit, experience and verification of original documents. No written examination/interview or physical efficiency test. Only eligible candidates will be called for verification of original documents.
