Bhubaneswar Institute of Technology shortly called as BIT began its first batch of classes in the year 2009 on the 2nd of September and the institute received approval from All India Council for Technical Education to offer technical courses in the year 2008 on the 14th of August. The institution is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology to offer engineering courses.

Short-term course on Computer Organization:

This course is meant for EEE, CSE and ECE students of the institution, who have completed their second semester and this course is conducted by Prof. R. Mahapatra from Texas A&M University.

Summer Training on Programmable SOC:

This is also a short-term summer course conducted by the institution during the months of June and July 2010 in two sessions. This short-term course was conducted for students, who have completed their 4th and 6th semester in Mechanical, Information Technology, EI, EEE, EE, ECE and CSE Engineering.

Facilities:

BIT is provided with state-of-the-art computing facilities and there a number of workstations with computers to meet the need of student usage and classes. The computers are provided with high-speed internet connection and the entire campus is provided with wireless coverage. The institution is offering transportation facilities for easy commuting of teachers, students and staff members from nook and corner of the city of Bhubaneswar. There is also a food court with sufficient seating capacity for the students to relax themselves during lunch hours.

Central Library:

The central library is planned to be situated inside the main campus in such a way that students and teachers can easily access the library. The institution is also planning to provide the central library with an electronic library, where computers with high-speed internet connection will be provided shortly.
