Punjab Agricultural University was established in the year 1962 under Government of India. The university is considered as the oldest agricultural university present in India after GOvind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture. There are approximatley 1250 personnel working as academic staff in the university. The campus of the university is spreaded in an area of 1510 acres. The present vice chancellor of the university is Baldev Singh Dhillon. The university is located at Ludhiana and is affiliated to University Grants Commission.
