Central University of Punjab was incorporated under Central Universities Act 2009, Government of India. The Act under which the university was established, recieved the assent of the President of India on 20 March 2009. The university is considered as one of the important link in the recently bset up chain of Central Universities. The university has the main objective of making special provisions for integrated courses in humanities, social sciences, science and technology in its educational programmes. Educating and training man power for the development of the country is also one of the main objective of the university.

Job Profile:

Central University of Punjab invites applications for making recruitment on the vacant teaching positions of Assistant Professors in various centres of studies purely on temporary basis. Selection of candidates will be made on contract basis for a period of one year or till the positions are filled up on regular basis. The posts of Assistant Professor are available in the disciplines of Biosciences, Comparative Literature, Computer Science and Technology, Enviromental Law, South and Central Asian Studies, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Enviromental Science and Technology and Social Studies.

Eligibility:

Interested candidates are required to follow the age criteria set for the post of Assistant Professor in Central University of Punjab. Candidates having age more than the prescribed maximum age limit, are not eligible to apply for the specified post in Central University of Punjab. Applications recieved from uneligible candidates will not be considered by the university under any cirucmstances.

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification required to be possessed by the candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in Central University of Punjab is Ph.D. in concerned discipline from a recognized university. Candidates must have passed NET or SLET examination conducted by University Grants Commission, CSIR. Candidates must possess a good academic record with minimum 55% marks in aggregate at their Master’s degree level. Candidates having qualification less than the prescribed one, are not eligible to apply for the post.

No. of posts: Several posts are available.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the consolidated salary i.e.

Amount of salary for M.Phil + NET + Ph.D qualified candidates is Rs. 42000 per month.
Amount of salary for NET + Ph.D qualified candidates is Rs. 39000 per month.
Amount of salary for only M.Tech qualified candidates is Rs. 36000 per month.

Candidates may also be provided free of cost ( for three months) partly furnished transit accomodation at the campus depending on the availability of rooms.

Application Fee:

Eligible candidates are required to submit or pay an application fee of Rs. 100 in the form of a Demand Draft only. The demand draft should be made in favour of Central University of Punjab payable at Bathinda. This demand draft should be sent alongwith the completed application form only.

Candidates should fill up the application form and send it alongwith the self attested copies of certificates and demand draft to the below mentioned address on or before the last date.
