Bihar Agricultural University was established as one of the Six Agricultural Colleges estbalished during year 1906 to 1910. The university came into existence as a premier institution of Agricultural Education and Research in the country. It initially started off as a bengal Provincial Agricultural College, Sabour. The university included Post Graduation education in the year 1955 in its five departments named Horticulture, Extension Education, Plant Pathology, Agronomy and Entomology. The university has also became a constituent college of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa.

Applications are invited from eligible Indian individuals for filling up the following vacant faculty positions of Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientist in various subjects. Canddiates are required to check their eligibility before applying for the desired position as applications recieved from uneligible candidates will not be considered by the university. The vacancies are available in various disciplines named Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Library Science, Plant Pathology, Biology, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry, Entomology etc.

1. Recruitment of Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientist (Backlog Posts):
No. of posts: Only 37 posts are available.
(SC-10, ST-26 and RCF-1).
Educational Qualification: Candidtaes should have a good academic record with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at the master’s degree level. Candidates should have done Post Graduation degree from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

2. Recruitment of Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientist (Agriculture Inspector/STA/JTA & equivalent):
No. of posts: Only 12 posts are available.
(Gen-6, SC-2, BC-2 and EBC-2).
Educational Qualification: Candidtaes should have a good academic record with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at the master’s degree level. Candidates should have done Post Graduation degree from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientist (Current Posts):
No. of posts: Only 232 posts are available.
(Gen-116, SC-37, ST-2, EBC-42, BC-28 and RCF-7).
Educational Qualification: Candidtaes should have a good academic record with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at the master’s degree level. Candidates should have done Post Graduation degree from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

Application Fee:

The amount of application fee for the General and OBC categories candidates is Rs. 450 only. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories, should submit an application fee of Rs. 150 only. The application fee should be submitted in the form of a Bank Draft payable at SBI Sabour. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of Comtroller, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour.
