High Court of Uttarakhand was established under the U.P. Re Organisation Act, 2000 under the Authorization of Constitution of India. The decision of the court are appealed to Supreme Court of India. Initially, the court started off with the sanctioned judge strength of 7 only but later on it increased to 9. The judge appointed in the court are liable to serve the court till 62 years of age. Mr. barin Ghosh is the current chief Justice of the court. The first ever Chief Justice of the court was Mr. Ashok A. Desai, who worked for the term 9 November 2000-5 December 2000.

Job Profile:

Eligible and deserving candidates are invited for filling up the following posts of Lower Division Clerk and Stenographer in High Court of Uttarakhand. Recruitment of eligible candidates on the post of Clerks will be made in Sub Ordinate courts through a Clerk Grade Service Examination-2011.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post is 21 years.
The maximum age limit set for the post is 35 years.

Candidates age should not exceed the maximum age limit set for the post. Also the age of candidates, should be more than 21 years. Candidates having age less than 21 years and more than 35 years, will not be considered eligible for the posts of Lower Division Clerk and Stenographer.

Educational Qualification:

Lower Division Clerk: 12th standrad passed from a recognized board is required for the post. Candidates, who have a good typing speed in English and Hindi on computer, are desirable for the post. Knowledge of computers is also desirable.

Stenographer: The minimum educational qualification required for the post is 10 standard passed. Candidates should also possess good typing speed in English and Hindi. Candidates should fulfill this educational criteria or else their appplications may not be considered.

No. of posts: Total 279 posts are available.

Lower Division Clerk: Total 179 posts are available.
(Gen-110, SC-36, ST-8 and OBC-25)

Stenographer: Total 100 posts are available.
(Gen-66, SC-17, ST-4 and OBC-13)

Pay Scale:

Lower Division Clerk: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.
Stenographer: Consolidated salary of Rs. 4000-6000 per month.

Application Fee:

All interested candidates will have to pay an application fee for applying in High Court of Uttarakhand. The application fee of Rs. 500 is need to be submitted by General and OBC categories candidates. Rs. 300 is the amount of application fee for the SC/ST candidates of Uttarakhand.

How to apply: Candidates can obtain the OMR application form in the prescribed format from Post offices in Uttarakhand. Application form will be available in Post Offices only upto 9 July 2011. Candidates are required to fill up the application form with correct details only. And the application then should be sent to the following address:
