Admission Process for B.Tech in IIT Kharagpur

Candidates who seek to join the B.Tech course in IIT, Kharagpur has to qualify in the Joint Entrance exam as well as the individual interview. The JEE exam is held annually as to choose suitable candidates. The admittance of the candidates will be based strictly on merit and the candidates will need to score more than 90 percent and above. The candidates can obtain the application form from the formal website of the IIT, Kharagpur. After downloading, the filled up form should be sent alongside a DD of the required amount to the IITK. Candidates also have the choice to pay fees via the ATM’s of the SBI or pay it via the SBI internet money transfer method.

Fee structure of B.Tech in IIT Kharagpur

Candidates of the general category: Candidates of the open category will have to pay the institute fee of Rs. 28,600/- and hostel fees of Rs. 7,250/-. The institute fees also include the tuition fees of Rs. 25,000/- each semester. The students will also be required to give Rs. 8000/- as advance mess charges, Rs. 425/- for the insurance policy, Rs. 50/- per semester for the technology film society and Rs. 100/- for the students brotherhood fund.

Candidates of the reserved categories: Candidates of the backward categories must pay Rs. 3,600/- for the institute fees and Rs. 7250/- as the hostel fees.
