Cochin University of Science and Technology Department Admission Test (CUSAT DAT- M Phil) is conducted by Cochin University for the selection of eligible candidates for the M Phil courses offered by different institutes under Cochin University of Science and Technology. This entrance exam provides an opportunity to candidates for pursuing an M Phil degree. The duration of the course is two semester. The M Phil course is offered in the following disciplines.

Structure and Syllabus of Cochin University of Science and Technology Departmental Admission Test (CUSAT DAT-M Phil)

The selection of the candidates for the M Phil courses is on the basis of the written entrance test and interview. The written test consists of both objective type questions and descriptive type questions. The written test consists of short answer type questions, paragraph questions and long essay type questions. The marks awarded for the written test is 100 marks and it includes 100 questions. The time awarded for the test is ninety minutes. Those who pass the written test have to attend an interview and the selection of the candidates for the M Phil course is on the basis of the marks scored in the entrance exam, interview and the marks scored in the PG course. The questions for the written test are asked from the specialized subjects studied in their PG courses curriculum.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who have completed their Masters Degree course in the specialized subject from any recognized University are eligible to apply for the M Phil courses in CUSAT University. The candidates have to secure at least 55% of marks in their qualifying examination. The candidates who are within the age of 40 years can apply for the test. The candidates who satisfy all this eligibility requirements can apply for the M Phil admission test. Those who secure 50 % marks in the entrance exam can join for the course.

How to Apply?

The application form for the Cochin University of Science and Technology Departmental Admission Test exam will be available from the concerned departments of the CUSAT University. The application form can be purchased from the department office against the cash payment of the application fee. The application fee is Rs.850/- for the general category candidates and Rs.375/- for the reserved category candidates. The duly filled form must be send to the concerned department by speed post or registered post or by hand.

How to fill the Form?

The candidate must fill the form by himself using a ball point pen. The candidates must fill the fee payment details in the application form. The test centre should be mentioned in the application form. All the details entered in the form must be correct. Any error will lead to the cancellation of the form. Two recent photographs of the candidate must be pasted in the application form. The fee payment receipt and photocopies of the necessary documents should be sending along with the completely filled application form to the concerned department of CUSAT University.
