Aspirants who wish to gain an admission for Under Graduate Engineering Programmes in Delhi can opt to attend a combined Engineering Entrance examination held by the University of Delhi. For Delhi born candidates 85% of the total seats will be reserved and the remaining seats will be available for candidates from other states of the country.

Engineering programmes offered by the University of Delhi includes Electronics and communication, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Polymer Science & Chemical Technology, IT, Environmental engineering, Production & Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, and Manufacturing Process & Automation. The DCEE is one of the most reputed entrance exams in the country and requires good effort to qualify. But by qualifying the examination, the candidates can end up in reputed colleges and ultimately achieve a safe and secure future.

Structure of DCEE

The DCEE question paper comes in the Objective type multiple choices for answers category. The paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 60 objective type questions from the subjects mentioned above will have four choices for a right answer. If candidates make it right, they would be awarded 4 marks for a question and for each wrong answer, a deduction of 1 mark will be there.

Eligibility Criteria

Obviously, the candidates intending to attend the exams are required to be qualified in the higher secondary level examinations (Class 12 equivalent). They must have scored minimum 60% average marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In the aggregate requirement, SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates will have relaxations. As on October 1st 2010, the candidates are supposed to be atleast 17 years of age or under 25 years of age in order to attend the DCEE.

How to Apply?

A demand draft of just Rs 400/- is required from the candidates so as to provide them with Application forms for the DCEE from the University counter after making the payment. Postal Delivery alternative is also there but this requires the candidates to submit a demand draft for an amount which includes Postal delivery charges as well, of Rs 475. The candidates of the reserved category need to pay only Rs 275 as demand draft. The demand draft can be drawn from any bank. The draft should be in favor of the Registrar, Delhi University, Delhi. After receiving the fee, the authorities would make arrangements to make the forms available to the candidates by post as early as possible.

The forms can also be downloaded. The official website of the colleges accepting DCEE qualified candidates [www.dce.ac.in, www.nsit.ac.in.] or follow the link from the University of Delhi’s website. The filled up form should be accompanied by a demand draft.

How to fill the Form?

Read the form carefully before filling. Make use of the instruction brochure which accompanies the application forms. With sufficient guidelines from parents, you would be able to complete the forms easy. But take care not to make errors. The forms should not be improperly handled.

Sale of Application Form: March to April, 2012

Last date for submitting the Form by post: First week of April, 2012

Last date submitting the Form: Mid of April, 2012

Date of CEE: End of the May, 2012

Date of Result: 2nd week of June2012

Study Plan

To attempt and qualify for the DCEE takes a lot of confidence, determination and a lot more sweat. The Candidates can easily qualify if they are willing to work very hard. But just working hard wouldn’t be quite enough. They would have to take a strategic approach by making schedules and covering topics very early. They can use aid from coaching centers as well.

Score Validity

The DCEE is an annual examination. So obviously the scores will be valid till the next exam, which is exactly one year.

    I belong to Delhi & have a domicile of Delhi region but I have passed my 10th from CBSE and 12th from state board(Bihar).Can I get the reservation category of DELHI(85%). Am I eligible of filling DCEE form 2013? Please reply me soon.
