NID is one of the pioneer institutes in India for imparting the design technology studies. The institute has its campus at three places, at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Bangalore. The main campus at Ahmedabad offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The campus at Gandhinagar is referred as the PG campus. Various postgraduate programmes are offered here. Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) – Foundation programme
The foundation programme is organized for developing the basic skills of students in the specific areas of design.
The 4 year UG programmes are
- Industrial Design – This course includes three specifications such as Product Design, Furniture & Interior Design and Ceramic & Glass Design
- Communication Design – The communication design includes Graphic Design, Animation Film Design, Film & Video Communication, Exhibition (Spatial) Design
- Textile, Apparel and Lifestyle Design – This course includes the Textile design.

Structure of the courses offered in National Institute of Design
The programmes offered in NID have various specializations. The students can choose the courses according to their area of interest. National Institute of Design Course Admissions
The admission to various courses in NID is based on the past performance in the qualifying examinations. For the admission of undergraduate programmes, the candidates have to take part in the written test and interview conducted by the institute. Also the candidate must have pursued a pass in 10+2 or equivalent. The candidates applying for various PG programmes should have pursued a bachelor’s degree in related fields. The upper age limit of the candidates is 30 years.

hello. am currently doing my 3rd yr B.V.A(APPLIED ART). i have 1 more yr to complete my UG. i would like to do my PG in animation film design. would you please let me know about the procedure and the fees structure of that programe?
