Company profile: Indian Oil Corporation Limited was incorporated in the year 1959. It is a reputed company and the largest commercial enterprise of India. It achieved a sales turnover of Rs285337 crores which is the highest by any Indian company. It deals in production, transmission, distribution, processing etc of petroleum, gas and the allied products.  

Job profile: The engineers will be required to work in different departments like mechanical engineering, chemical, petrochemical, electrical, civil etc. They will be required to execute their departmental activities and also support their seniors. They will be required to operate and manage several systems.

Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 26 years. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/civl/petrochemical/chemical/mettalugical/instrumentation engineering from a recognized institute or a university. A candidate must have secured minimum 65% marks throughout the bachelor’s degree.

No. of posts: The no. of posts is not specified but it is expected to be high.

Pay scale: The engineers will initially get a monthly pay of Rs23000 and the GAEs will get a monthly pay of Rs20000. Other allowances will be given as per the rules.

Selection process: The candidates will have to appear in GATE 2010. Depending upon their GATE score in the concerned branch the candidates will be short listed and the short listed candidates will be further called for the GD and the interview.

How to apply: The candidates have to first apply for the GATE 2010. After receiving the GATE registration no. the candidates have to apply online on the IOCL’s website. The candidates have to take a printout of the application form and have to produce at the time of the interview/GD.
