You need to get Regular / Distance mode Graduate. which should most valuable and worth full. Not One year Degree

1. preliminary examination-conducted during the second half of may.
after qualifying preliminary examinaation, you need to appear for
2. main examination- conducted during the month of oct/nov
3. interview (for those who passed the main examination)

eligibility: 1. degree from a recognised university
2. age limit: min max
general- 21yrs. 30 yrs.
obc - 21 yrs 33 yrs.
sc/st - 21 yrs. 35 yrs.

attempts: general- 4
obc - 7
sc/st - no limit

After getting selected for IPS you will be under a probation period as an SP of a district in any state in which you have been allocated.
after the probation period of two years, you will be confirmed as a district superintendent of police which in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore are known as ACP.

If you want o join Indian Police Service(I.P.S) then you have to qualify the Civil Services Exam..

Civil Services Exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year..

In this exam all the candidate who pass the graduation with any stream are eligible for this exam..

The age limit for Open category is 21-30 year.. For ST/SC for age limit i 21-27 year and for O.B.C is 21-33 year...

There are 4 stage of selection:-
> Prelims Exam
> Mains Exam
> Interview
> Medical Exam..

For this your partime diploma with your study you can try to doing from open universities like
IGNOU.
NAlanda open university.
Rajshree tondon open university.
and some other universities which is open in india. To get admission you have 10+2 passed & satisfied the university requirements which is given in prospectus.
This has some course fee for your Study material which is proved by post or courier.
They have some class for problem of students.
So visit your study centre or web site for eligibility criteria.

To become IPS examination a candidate must have to qualify civil service examination which conducts by UPSC union public service commission each year to eligible in it a candidate must have to satisfy eligibility criteria as graduation from a recognized university and age limit differs according to quota of a candidate
You can collect form from post office or download it from UPSC official website

Yes,you can join for IPS exam as any Graduate from a recognised university or a college in India is the minimum eligibility criteria for IPS.
He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination.

ACP you need to pass civil service examination conducted by
the UPSC.
The pass outs of the central civil service examination conducted
by the UPSC are called IPS and Fresh IPS are appointed as ACP.

Get a job in police you need to go through IPS examination.which is conducted by UPSC.After clear the IPS a fresh police got a rank of ACP.

ACP - Assistant Commissioner of Police and to become an ACP you have to join Indian Police Service(IPS) by applying, and get through the Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate aspiring for IPS, Civil Service Exam, must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

Apart from this the the candidate aspiring for IPS should have maintained a minimum Physical Requirement such as:-

HEIGHT - General Male - 165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST - Male - 84cm and Female - 79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

To join Indian Police or to become ACP you need to give the UPSC civil services exam conducted every year and you can become IPS officer .The exam is conducted in three phases:
