For the IAS exam conducted by UPSc the minimum qualification is a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university.UPSC releases the notification twice a year for IAS exam.The age limit is 21-30 for general candidates and the no of attempts are only 4 for general candidates.For SC/ST age relaxation is +5 years and the no of attempts are also unlimited. You can apply for the entrance exam through UPSc official website whenever the notification released.So follow the UPSC website regularly for the notification. |

-ias exam is one of the prestigious exam even more than iit-jee exam as it will take you to the apex of any administrative ladder in india .. -you should be determined, hard working and well focused while preparing ias exam. Eligibility criteria involves certain things as mentioned below: 1. Educational qualification: must be a graduate from a recognised university. candidates having professional and technical qulification are also eligible. 2. Nationality: the candidate must be a citzen of india. 3. Age limits: candidate must attain the age of 21 years and must not attained the age of 30 years on the year in which the examination is being held. relaxtation of age limit in case of sc/st and other backward categories. The minimum eligibility criteria for it is your must be a gradute in any field,But it is not an easy task you have appear for an entrance which is conducted every year by UPSC, official websitehttp://www.upsc.gov.in after cracking several rounds of entrance's you have crack GD session,then an interview,then medical fitness test,then you will be sent for training after you will be appointed as an IAS officer. The eligibility criteria for appearing in the IAS exam
qualification: you must be a graduate from a recognized university with 50% marks. Age limit: 21-30 years. Relaxation for OBC categary in upper age is 3 years. For sc/st is 5 years in upper age limit nationality: indian . But keep in mind for gen. categary there are 4 chances and for st/sc is unlimited. Eligibility criteria:- Educational qualification:- *The candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade.. *The candidate should not have any due backlogs during graduation.. Age criteria:- *The candidates age should be in between 21-30 years. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years.. minimum requirement to appear in the civil service exams that is ias exam or any other service exam in the civil services is the completion of the graduation in any discipline from the recognized indian university. and the age of the candidate appearing in the exam should be more than 21 years and less than 30 years. for obc category age requirement is 21 to 33 years and for sc/st it is 21 to 35 years. number of attempts :- general category candidates can attempt ias exam for the 4 times obc category candidates can apply ias exam for 7 times while there is no restriction in case of sc/st category candidates on the number of attempts. for the latest notifications about the ias exam kindly visit the website www.upsc.gov.in thanks and best luck |

Eligibility criteria for IAS exam: Candidate should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university. Age should be between 21 to 30 years. Academic Eligibility for IAS Exams
A degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification. Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination. All such candidates who qualify to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination must produce proof of having passed the said examination along with their application for the Main Examination. The UPSC may in exceptional cases treat a candidate without the foregoing requisite qualification as an eligible candidate if he / she has passed an examination conducted by other institutions, the standard of which justifies his / her admission in the opinion of the Commission. Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees. Candidates who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination. However they must submit along with their Main Examination application, a certificate from the concerned authority of the University / Institution that they have passed the final professional medical examination. At the Interview stage they must then produce a certificate from a competent authority that they have completed (including internship) all the requirements for the award of the Medical Degree. Other Eligibility Conditions for IAS Exams (1) Nationality i. Only Indian nationals are eligible for IAS and IPS. ii. For other services a candidate can be either of the following: a. a citizen of India, b. a subject of Nepal, c. a subject of Bhutan, d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Vietnam, Zaire or Zambia with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates belonging to either categories of b., c., d. or e., must produce an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India. Those who belong to either of b., c., or d., categories are not eligible for appointment to the Indian Foreign Service. (2) Age Limit i. A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. ii. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below: a. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST. b. upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes. c. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during the period between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989. d. upto a maximum of 3 years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled during hostilities with foreign countries or in a disturbed area and consequently released. e. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs / SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on August 1 of the year of examination and have been released: on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from August 1 of the year of examination) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or on invalidment. f. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ECOs / SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment (5 years Military Service) as on August 1 of the year of examination and whose assignment has been extended beyond 5 years. Such candidates will have to provide a certificate from the Ministry of Defence stating that they can apply for civil employment and they will be released on a notice of 3 months, upon selection, from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. g. upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped candidates. |

IAS-INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one has to appear and crack the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age. There is upper age relaxation for SC/ST/PH candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years. as we all know following is the 3 steps you have to follow to become an IAS officer 1.preliminary written test 2.final written test 3.personal interview 1.the syllabus for the preliminary or CSAT(civil services aptitude test) 2.final examination is the subjective one having following optional(one to choose) Choosing your optional Actually choosing your optional is the biggest task for you as an aspirant of being an IAS officer choose as your graduation specialization. though you may say papers like social science,history are easier in the sense maximum no of people chosen per year are from these optional subjects.
