Re: How to beome an IAS officer? what is the qualification required?
Dear,
In order to give the IAS exam you need to clear the CSAT i.e. Civil Services Aptitude Test conducted by the UPSC. The minimum educational qualification required to become an IAS officer is to be a graduate in any field. Age limitation is between 21-30 years with 5 years relaxation for the SC/ST candidates and 3 years relaxation for the 3 years. General categories get 4 while reserved categories get 7 attempts to clear the IAS exam. I am happy that you are trying to become an IAS officer as it is one of the most prestigious things. General awareness is quite important for the preparation of the IAS exam. Thanks. |

Re: How to beome an IAS officer? what is the qualification required?
Dear Friend
To become an IAS officer you are supposed to have a good communication skill. But, it doesn't mean that you can't appear the exam without improving it completely. There is only one English paper in civil services mains examination which is a qualifying paper. The marks of this paper is not included in final result. You just need to qualify the decided cutoff. In Personal Interview you can choose Hindi language. Civil Services examination is conducted in a very long time span(about one year). You should give your one hour daily just to improve English. Even if you start from the day you appear the Prelims, you would be a good communicator at the time of Interview. So, there is no need of getting worried just for English. You just do preparation for everything else and for English you should give around an hour everyday. That would be enough. Read Newspapers and magazines. Books: Word Power Made Easy Finish this book once then you will surely find further ways yourself. |
