I am working in an engineering college since three years in consolidated mode of payment in MCA Department as an Assistant Professor. At the time of appointment, I have completed M.Sc (Computer Science) with 70% marks and pursuing M.Tech(I.T.). Now I have completed M.Tech degree with 72% marks. Can I eligible to confirm in the MCA Dept. as an assistant professor.

Re: Teachers in service prior to 01-01-1996 in engineering colleges.
1) According to clarification mentioned in AICTE 2003 , Teachers in service prior to 01-01-1996 , are exempted from first class degree. whether this clarification applicable only to their existing institution.?
2) In case, if they change the college, will their services will be considered since they have worked in
AICTE APPROVED ENGINEERING COLLEGES SINCE 01-01-1996.

hello dear

Yes definately you are eligible !

I think, if you read the faiyaz answer, your doubt is clear now. But i will tell you that, there was clearly mention, if you are scored atleast 60% marks in B.tech Or in M.tech
then you are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.

So, please dont worry, you are eligble for the post of Assistant Professor. If you want to
thank you

Dear you are Taking it wrong.........!

It is Mentioned under Qualification required for Asst. Professor........

BE/BTech and ME/MTech in relevant branch with First Class or {equivalent} either in BE/BTech or ME/MTech

{Here equivalent means aggregate Equivalent to 60% either in B.Tech or M.Tech means aggregate in GPA Scale or else.}

Also I have attached the Information brochure kindly go through it nicely.
