If I did my 12 th from u.p I can apply for ias exam or not and what are the minimum percentage required in 12 th

is it necessary to take hindi in class 10 for government jobs like IAS

Your 12th or graduation marks does not matter in case of applying for IAS.

However low is your graduation marks, you still can apply for IAS.

Because to become an IAS you should have completed your graduation first in any stream from any recognized university....that is the only educational criteria....then take a look at the following things.

1. Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years.

2. You should have good knowledge in current affairs and social issues.
[Because you need to have very strong in that]

So if you fulfill the above conditions, you can easily crack IAS exam.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE IAS EXAM:-

There is no standard set for the persentage of marks to write the exam for IAS. You just need to be a graduate from a recognised university.

For IAS, you will have to write Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC.

MY Friend, there is no such marks requirement in graduation.Eligibility Criteria For IAS is

(i) Age limits :
21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).

(ii) Educational Qualifications :

It does not matter from which state you have done your 12th or gradution. The minimum education qualification required for ias examination is gradution pass from government recognized university.

Yes you can surely appear for IAS as there is no such percentage requirement.
You just need a pass grade in your academics and minimum of a graduation degree from a recognized university.You need to be an Indian national and above 21 years of age.

Yes you are eligible for appearing in IAS exam as the eligibility is just a graduation degree from a recognized university no matter how much % you got in graduation.

to appear in the ias exam candidate must be the graduated student from any recognized indian university with the age of between 21 to 30 years.

general and obc category candidates are allowed to attempt this exam for the 4 and 7 times respectively.
while there is no restriction on the number of attempts on the candidates belongs to sc/st ctegory.

minimum requirement for this exam is just graduation from recognized indian university .
means candidates with the completion of the graduation with clearing of all subjects in while completion of graduation with any percentage are allowed to attempt this exam.

Eligibility for IAS

according to the UPSC,the guidelines for the Civil Service Exams set are as follows :-

1) A candidate must be a graduate from any recognized college in India from any stream..

2) The candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years of age for general category..less than 33 for OBC and less than 35 for SC/ST..
a maximum of 4 attempts for the general category candidates..

since the minimum eligibility required is that of a graduate hence only your degree matters and not your percentage..

there are two rounds for this..
1)Prelims :- it consists of two papers..both are objective and based on aptitude,general knowledge and current affairs..

2)Mains :- if you clear the prelims then you will have to give the mains where your knowledge of your graduation subjects will be tested..

if you clear this then you will be called for the interview and final selection..

recognized university or you are a last year pursuing candidate

and you age must not be less than 21 years and not more than
30 years in case of general, upper age limit for OBC is 33 years
and for SC/ST is 35 years....

and you are only eligible for limited attempts as 4 for general,
7 for OBC and no limit for SC/ST.........
