Introduction:

Sub-inspector post carries pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 in Pay Band 2 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200/. Post of Sub Inspector in SSB and BSF are classified as Group `B Non-Gazetted. Post Sub Inspectors in CISF, ITBP and CRPF are classified as Group “C”. Staff Selection Commission conducts the related exam for entry in Police organisation as a sub-inspector.

Eligibility:
All entries regarding the sub-inspector requires a graduation in any field and for this a person should be between 20-25 years of age.

Pattern:
Generally entrance exam would come in this performa:
1. Paper I
(a) General Intelligence and Reasoning
(b)General Awareness
(c)Numerical Ability

2. Paper II
Subjects - (a) Hindi Language - 100 Marks
(b) English Language - 100 Marks

The qualification needed and the other criterion to be satisfied for sub-inspector post are-

Citizenship-You should have Indian citizenship.

Age Limit-You age should be between 20 to 25 years.

Age Relaxation available for reserved categories-
3 years for OBC reserved category candidates.
5 years for SC/ST reserved category candidates.
5 years for candidates who have achieved distinction in sports.

Education Qualification-
You should have a bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
There is no percentage cut-off as such.

Physical Standards-
minimum height needed-170cms
required chest size is 81cms before expansion and minimum 85cms after full expansion.

Selection procedure :

Through a series of physical ability tests followed by a written test.

Physical tests include :

*. A initial 5 kilometer run which should be completed in 25 minutes (* impossible without practice)

*. A 100 meter sprint which should be completed in 15 seconds. (* easy)

*. A long jump in which a candidate should jump a distance of 3.80 meters (* easy)

*. A shot put throw which should be thrown a distance of 5.60 meters (* practice makes it easy)

*. A high jump in which a jump of 1.2 meters is required (* practice) and

*. An 800 meter run which should be completed in 170seconds (* easy).

* According to me.

Written test for SI of police consists of 4 papers.

Paper 1: English (Descriptive) : 50 questions, 100 mar Paper 2: Arithmetic, test of reasoning,

Mental ability. : 200 marks

Paper 3: General studies : 200 mark

The post of Sub Inspector is very frightful and even you should belongs to backward class so it is easy for you to join Sub Inspector because there are so many relaxation for backward class people. in this graduation is necessary and your height is above 5.8 feet, chest in about 36 to 40 and even perform good in physical exam. And also get prepared for written exam of Sub Inspector, after clearing the written exam you would be able to appear in physical. In this stream all things requires best and physical is more important than written exam so get prepared for everything that I will tell you.
