listen frnd u desire to become Lt colonel , then u have to study upto 10+2 atleast......
10 yrs back there used to be a entry after 10..that too for soldiers and not for officers.....

always think big and complete your 10+2...then u will be eligible to appear for NDA exam which is conducted twice a year......

setting into army does not require any ncc or scouts certificate compulsorily.......it is just that u should have the aptitude and spirit to join Indian Army......

To join indian army you have to fulfill these basic criterias:

1)your age should be 19 to 23 years old.
2)you should be medically sound.

after you fulfill these criterias you can then give the following exams to join indian army,you can join logistic cadre in indian army:

UES-University Entry Scheme.
SSC-Short Service Commission.
CDS-Combined Defence Service

1)CDSE: it is an exam conducted for graduates by UPSC twice an year.

There are mainly two exams for joining INDIAN ARMY
NDA
CDS
NDA exam is after 12th class .All 12th appearing students are eligible for this exam.
CDS this is after graduation..
All students which completed their graduation course are eligible for giving this exam.

In order to join the Indian Army , you need to have the following eligibility :-

--> 10+2 pass candidates with physics , chemistry , maths with a minimum of 55-60% marks.

--> Age limitation is between 16.5 - 19 years with no relaxation.

--> Only unmarried male candidates can apply for it.

--> Minimum height should be 157.5 cm with 5 cm chest expansion.

--> Eyesight should be 6/6 of both the eyes.

First thing I want to tell you is ONLY MEN ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF POSTS IN THE INDIAN ARMY sector.

But you can join the Indian Air Force or Indian Naval Academy through the various upsc examinations conducted by the govt of India.

1.through writing cds(combined defence services) which will be held on 15th february 2010.
2.through military engineering services who are constantly recruiting fresh graduates from engineering colleges.
3. Also there are various ssc exams
but let me tell one thing ,to get to the army you not only have to clear the written tests and interviews but also the physical fitness test which is quite demanding,so be prepared physically as well

well if you are not satisfied with your job and are confident to again rejoin any job with an addition in your qualification then i will suggest you to go for the course..
otherwise my 1 and only 1 suggestion to you is you have to belive in your abilities and trust your potential and then go for any decision as after this course also you are gonna join any good job with an additional pay hike..

As, you are commerce student, hence, you can only apply for the MILITARY branch, not for NAVAL & AIR FORCE WING .
Through CDSE [combined defense service examination], conducted by the UPSC [UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION],one can apply in all the branches of the Indian army.

For apply in military branch, you must have a graduation degree in any stream,.
But for apply in NAVAL & IN AIR FORCE WING, you must have engineering degee on is equivalent with at least 60%.
The age limit for this examination is 19-25 years,.
there is not any kind of age relaxations criteria applicable for any reserved category.

Also, you must have Indian nationality with marital status unmarried.

How To Join Indian Army

After completion of your graduation..you can join the Indian Army by clearing the CDS (Combined Defence Services) Exam which takes place twice a year in the months of February and September..

The CDS (1) exam for 2012 is going to be conducted on 12th February,2012

The forms for this exam are already available..and the last date for form submission is 28th November,2011 so better hurry up..

Eligibility Criteria for CDS :-

1) You should have passed our graduation from a recognized University in any stream..

2) You should be within the age limit of 19-24 years for joining the Indian Military Academy

Eligibility criteria:

> Pass graduation with recognized university.
> you must be Indian.
> Medically fit.

After that you have to face the interview and and medical test.

you can join Indian Army as an officer by writing CDS exam i.e Common Defence Service Exam conducted by UPSC.
for this one should complete graduation with more than 60%.
if you want to join in navy or airforce you would have studied maths and physics in your 12th class.
for joining army there is no restriction on the subjects in 12th class.

Age Limit

Indian Military Academy 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy 19-23 Years
Naval Academy 19-22 Years
Officer Training Academy 19-25 Years.

exam pattern:
english 100 marks
elimentary maths 100 marks
