Re: Number of attempts allowed in GATE ?
Hi dear,
There is no restriction to apply for GATE as per number of attempts to appear the exam. You can apply for the exams as many times as you want to. However, it could be a disadvantage if you have no any work experience after engineering. It is ok if you drop one year after B.Tech. for preparation of GATE but someone is dropping 5 year after B.Tech. and he/she did neither job nor studies in that period then it reflects a negative point. The negative point doesn't mean that you will not be eligible for the exam, it means that you will get problems in Interview marks. Also, persons with work experience and freshers are preferred. Those who are neither fresher nor having work experience are less preferred. So if you are attempting more than two three years try to get a job according to your academic profile. Thanks |

Re: Number of attempts allowed in GATE ?
sir
There is no age limit or attempt limitation for the exam. you can attempt it any number of time. but attempting exam after some gap will make the preparation little bit tough .So it would be better if you write it as soon you finish your bachelor degree |

Number of attempts allowed in gate.
* There is no limits for the number of attempts in GATE examination. * There is no age limit also. * So you no need to worry about it you can attempt as many you can. * Engineering students or Master degree candidates should get a graduation from recognized university. Thank you |

Re: Number of attempts allowed in GATE ?
Sir i am a B.Tech passout Student (Stream -IN)in 2011.And I am preparing for GATE 2012 and it is feeling quite a hard task as the subjects covered in B>tech does not match completely to those of GATE.Syllabus in GATE is huge and I too haven't studied all those subjects seriously. But i am preparaing them very well.So my question is sir if i qualified GATE in 2012 but i am not getting my preferred subject for Masters(M.Tech),is there any problem then that i will prepare hard and soul for the next time to grab the IIT s in GATE 2013.Is there any problem Sir?
