Age limit and relaxation for 2011 UGC NET
For JRF (NET): Minimum 19 years and maximum 28 years as on 01.07.2009 (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants.
For LS (NET): Minimum 19 years as on 01.07.2010. No upper age limit.

UGC NET Age Limit

Well, candidates wanting to go through UGC NET for LEcturership needs not to worry, because there is no age limit to appear in NET for Lecturership.

For Junior Research Fellowship:- The maximum age permissiable is 28 years. Candidate should not reach the age of 28 till the 1st December (if appearing in december) or 1st June (if appearing in june).

However, there is also relaxation for various candidates, as follows:-

Relaxation of upto 5 years for - SC/ST/OBC/PH and VH.

Similarly, relaxation of upto 5 years for - candidates having research experiance after master degree.

Relaxation of 3 years for - LLM degree holders.

If You Are Interested to Apply for UGC Junior Research Fellowship, Then for this You Have to more than 28 Years. The Relaxation Upto 5 years is Only Provided to the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC And PH Candidates.

But, If You Have Apply for Lectureship, then I Will suggest You, there is No Upper Age limit for Applying for Lectureship.


For L.L.M. Degree Holder Candidates - 3 Year Relaxation.

1-The maximum age permissiable is 28 years. Candidate should not reach the age of 28 till the 1st December (if appearing in december) or 1st June (if appearing in june).

UGC conducts NET exam means national eligiblity test for Junir research fellowoship and for lecturer post.

There is no age limitation for lecturership but age bondation is only for jrf.

Not more than 28 year as on 1/6/11 is able to give the exam for JRF.

UGC conducts NET exam twice a year, in the months of June and December for
Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturership .

Qualification :- post graduate with 55% in any subject.

Age limit:- For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)-- 19 to 28
For Lecturership minimum 19 and there is no upper age limit.
Relaxation in upper age limit for sc/st/obc.

Through NET exam you may go for the two options:

If you want to become a Junior Research Fellow then your age should be within 28 years on or before 1st June on that year of applying. Candidates belonging to SC/ST or OBC or PH categories and women candidates should be provided a relaxation of 5years.
But if you want to become a lecturer then there are no such upper limit in age.

UGC NET is held 2 times in a year,you must be a post graduate with atleast aggregate 55% marks in any subject.

The minimum age requirement for UGC NET is 19 yrs.
