am i able to apply for IMA after 12th by passing 12th with science stream and getting 78.2%marks

For your qualification there are two modes of entry in Indian Military Academy.

1. 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme
The entrance exam is conducted by Indian Army itself.
The qualified candidates undergo 5 year training in IMA Dehradun.
One should have at least 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects in
aggregate.

2. N.D.A. & N.A. Examination
This examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year.
Early training is conducted in National Defence Academy and after successful completion
of training you will be sent to IMA if you opt for Indian Army.
There is no percentage restriction in this exam.

Your academic qualification is ok for both these entry but you should take note that
for both type of entry, you age should be within 16.5 to 19 years.

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy , The interested candidates can apply in NDA or CDS exam to join IMA , The eligibility criteria are as follows:

CDS eligibility :

Educational Qualifications..........

Degree from a recognized University or equivalent
If you are studying in the final year Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply for this exam.

Age limit :

Indian Military Academy ----- 19-24 years

Scheme of Examination:

English 100

General Knowledge 100

Elementary Mathematics 100

Total 300

NDA exam Eligibility :

Education qualification..

*The candidates should be 10+2 pass from a recognized board.
The candidates should be science students.

Age Limit :

16.5 - 19yrs.

Hello friend,

since you have just completed yours 10+2 level and this is not enough to join in indian military academy,as the minimum eligiblity required for ima is graduation with minimum 60% for general candidates and for sc/st it is 55%. From recognized university.

Age has to be within 19-24 years.

Martial status-unmarried.
Must be a citizen of india.

Fulfilling the above criteria then only you have a chance to serve for india.

Is there any posibility to join the army from arts streme? 12 arts

You need to finish your graduation for getting into IMA Dehradun. You can join the Technical Entry scheme and university entry scheme. You can also join Indian Military Academy or Officers Training Academy after completion of graduation. There are medical and physical standards to be met for joining the Indian Army. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the higher secondary examination and atleast, have 40% in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English. During the time of admission, he should be 17 1/2 years and must not be over 23 years of age. There will be a compulsory paper of Mathematics in the NDA Exam, conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
