my date of birth is 09-12-1993, will i be able to appear for the NDA I/NDA II examinations. please provide me a detailed information about this. my caste is OBC

A candidate should be in the age group of 16 1/2 years to 19 years to be eligible for NDA Exam which is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year.

One can join into
-Army wing
-Navy wing
-Air Force wing by cracking this NDA Exam.

As per your date of birth, you are going to complete 19 years by 09-12-2012. So, definitely you are eligible for both of the upcoming NDA Exams of next academic year.

For this academic year, NDA Exam was completed both the times. If you are interested, you can appear for upcoming NDA I Exam of next academic year.

After 10+2 , You are eligible for NDA exam.

But Your age must be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

But your date of birth is 9-12-1993 , Your age is full fill the eligibility criteria So you are eligible for NDA exam now.

NDA exam is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission) every year for two times.


through this exam one can serve the nation in any wings(naval,air,military wings) of the indian army just after 12th class.

for appear in this exam you must have to complete your 12th in PCM group with at least 60% from a recognized board.

the age limit for this exam is 16.5-19.

this exam is only for unmarried males.

also a candidate must possess indian nationality.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have cleared 10+2 and those who are currently doing can apply
Those who had taken Physics & Mathematics in Class 12th can apply for navy and air force.
Candidates appearing for the exam must be bachelors .They must be between16 1/2 to 19 years on January 1st or July 1st of the year subsequent to the year of the exam
Non-permanent citizens of India are not allowed to apply
Nationalities of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibetan refugee can apply only if they have migrated to India with a purpose to become permanent citizens of India prior to January 1st
In case candidates origin is from India but actually migrated from either neighboring countries of India or East Africa nations like Uganda and Kenya can apply provided they are planning to permanently settle in India.
Gorkha category of Nepal need not submit any proof
Physical standards are mentioned below

Any candidate whose height is not within157.5cms to 162.5cms cannot apply for Air Force wing. Candidates whose chest is less than 81cms cannot apply. Candidates should have proper eye-sight. They should not be overweight or under weight

National Defense Academy (NDA) exam is conducted by upsc twice in a year to intake qualified Candidate for different department in Defense service like Indian Airforce, Indian Navy,Indian Army etc.

Eligibility criteria for NDA-I/NDA-II exam:
Education qualification: Minimum candidate should complete 12th class with PCM stream.
Age Limit: Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.
Citizenship: Indian

NDA-I and NDA-II exam are conducted twice in year, because the person who was not able to attend for NDA-I exam, he can apply for NDA-II exam in the same year, without having gap between the education.

NDA-I exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012.
Exam will held on 15th April 2012.
NDA-II exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 5th May 2012 to 4th June 2012.
Exam will held on 19th Aug 2012.

ELIGIBILTY FOR NDA

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has release National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II) – 2011 Notification. Examination will be conducted on 21st August 2011 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wing of the NDA. These are for 128th Course of NDA and for 90th (10+2 Executive Branch) course of Naval Academy commencing from June 2012. Following are details of vacancies and application procedure:

Vacancies: 335 posts (Army-195, Navy-39, Air Force – 66, Navy Academy- 35); Applicants must be born between 2nd July, 1993 and 1st January,1996.

1. Qualification for Army: Applicants should have passed 12th Class of the 10+2 pattern of School Education.
2. For Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy: Candidates must have passed in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of School Education with Physics and Mathematics subjects. All the candidates should have Physical Standards as prescribed by the UPSC. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for NDA and NA courses.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates can apply either online or offline. For Offline mode of application, Common Application Form of UPSC are available with designated Head Post Offices/ Post offices across the country. Cost of application is Rs. 30/-. Those want to apply online can login to upsconline.nic.in and apply before 09th May 2011.

Offline applications must reach the ‘Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. Last date is 9th May, 2011. For more details such as fee, exam structure, pay scales, and other info, upsc.gov.in

Eligibility Criteria For NDA

The National Defense Academy (NDA) conducts an exam twice in a year in the months of April and August for admission into the armed forces

Eligibility Criteria :-

1) You should be a 12th pass-out (with PCM as your subjects if you want to join the Air Force or Navy)

2) You should be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years

Apart from these you should be physically fit and should have a perfect eyesight..

First,you need to clear the written exam which will test your english,general knowledge and basic maths,then the interview and then the medical examination..

The forms for the next NDA exam shall be available in the month of January..you can avail them from your nearest book depot..

* Candidates should be the citizen of India.
* Candidates should have age limit within 16.5 to 19 years
* Candidates should complete 12th from a recognized institute
* Candidates should study maths and physics at 12th.
* Unmarried male candidates can only appear the exam.
* Candidates should be physically fit.

If you have above eligibility then you can apply for NDA exam otherwise you cannot.

yes of corse you are eligible for the nda exam.
you can join NDA only after 10+2 ..
age limit:-
age must be in between 16.5 to 19 years.
but it seems that your age is 18 years, So you are eligible for NDA exam.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NDA:
Educational qualification:
12th standard from a recognised state or central board.
Percentage is not required for this exam.
For airforce and navy wings you must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.

Age criteria:
Age limits is 16 1/2 years to 19 years.
There is no relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidates.

Sorry to say but you are not eligible for the upcoming NDA Exam because the next NDA Exam will be held on 7th of April , 2013 and then your age will be over 19 years.

But , the age limit for NDA Exam is 16.5-19 years.

So , if you want to join Defence then i suggest you to complete your graduation and apply for the CDS Exam.
