Can i apply for iaf and afcat during b.tech 3rd year

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test.
During 3rd year of B.Tech. you can apply for AFCAT for University Entry Scheme.
This Entry Scheme of IAF is only for Prefinal year of B.Tech.
The advertisement for the exam is published generally in December.
You should have at least 60% marks in B.Tech. in aggregate to be eligible for this exam.
Also, you should not have any backlog at the time SSB Testing.

During final year of B.Tech. or later you can apply for Aeronautical Engineering Course
and Combined Defence Service Examination.

IAF stands for Indian Air force and to apply for IAF, you have to apply for the Various entries as per your educational Qualification. These are the entries to Join IAF Namely,

=> National Defence Academy examination
=> Combined Defence Academy examination
=> Air force common admission test
=> NCC Special Entry

If you have just completed your Intermediate examination and study PCM subject in Intermediate and your age should between 16.5 to 19 years then you are eligible to apply for the NDA Examination and choose Air force wings as preference.

You can also apply for the CDS Examination, if you have completed your graduate course from a recognised university and study PCM subjects in Intermediate examination. Your age should between 19 to 23 years to apply for this entry.

Both NDA and CDS Examination conducted two times in a year.

If you have scored more than 60% marks in your graduation then you can also apply for the AFCAT Examination and Join Flying Branch, Technical Branch and Ground duty Branch.

Mechanical and Electronics engineering graduates are eligible for Technical Branch and age should between 18 to 28 years.

Commerce graduates and any discipline candidates may apply for Ground duty Branch and age should between 20 to 23 years. Notification published twice in a year.

I am in 3rd year persuing B.tech, bt have 2 backlogs, whose exam i'll be gvng in january'13. I hope to clear them. Will i be eligible for AFCAT'13?
