Re: Career options after M.Tech?
There are various career options after M.tech but many of the M.Tech graduates usually try out for the Government sector job's (PSU's).There are Government sector companies like BEL, ISRO, HAL, BHEL, DRDO,.etc which recruits M.tech graduates separately through their own exams.
Since M.Tech is all about specialization in core subject hence there are even job options as lecturer's.After going through the M.Tech course graduates can apply for the UGC NET examination for the Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Candidates qualifying for the award of Junior Research Fellowship will be eligible to receive fellowship of UGC under various schemes, subject to their finding placement in universities/IITs/institutions. After completing your M.tech you will definitely have better options when compared to an B.Tech student hence you need not worry about that.Almost all the Government sector companies recruit M.tech graduates because of their higher knowledge when compared to B.tech students. |

Re: Career options after M.Tech?
hi...let me tell you the very clear picture of the mtech students of the iits the premier engineering institute in the country in regards to the placement scenario, there are only very few companies coming for campus placements and also the pay scale is very less when compared to the btech students of the iits ,and among these few companies also the number of students selected is very less, only the top few students get selected by these companies ,and if this is the scenario then you can think what will be the situation of other colleges ,so if you can only top the batch only then join mtech even then an campus placement is not gauranteed,
but the only advantage of doing mtech would be that the proffession of teaching field opens for you and also these is enough time to prepare for the government jobs ,if you are interested in government jobs only then join mtech other wise you are taking an big risk |

Re: Career options after M.Tech?
Most of the Govt sectors, Advanced Technological(ISRO) etc, ask for MTech or ME graduates, since they feel these people are more resourceful than the normal BTech or BE graduates.
So you can always get placed in a better industry, than what you get for a BE. But this doesn't happen usually because, people prefer to do MTech or ME nowadays, just because they don't get placed after doing their engineer undergraduate. So they feel if they do a masters, it will be helpful to get placement with the masters. Only a few people study masters for Teaching and Research, even after getting a good job during placement. So what happens is the majority of the BE or BTech graduates, due to unemployment, prefer to do MTEch, which increases the competition for placement. |

please dont do mtech because placemnts chances are very very less and almost all companies prefer only btech guys ,if you have capability to get into iit then its good otherwise no,because lot of my friends who did mtech from mit manipal did not got placed ,first ask only your seniors who did mtech in that college only ,because college administration gives you bogus information ,
