sir,i m last yr student of B.E chemical from mumbai university...i want to know about the entrance exam held for mtech in petroleum...and is there the admission possible without gate score...

There are two types of M.tech

M.tech in top versities like IIT's IISc's NIT's and atleast university colleges

for this option there is no second thing that you have to write GATE for sure..

and get a top 300 rank only

then you can do your desired speciallisation in top universities

and coming to normal colleges there are many colleges which are offering the

M.tech degrees to candidates who apply them or just pay them these type of degrees are mere waste

so don't go for this option

always aim high this should be your motto

and aim to IIT's its my suggestion

Institutes offering M.Tech in Petroleum Engineering are as follows

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Uttar Pradesh
Candidates with a valid GATE score are only eligible for the program.

Indian School of Mines University
Candidates without GATE score have to appear for the All India Entrance Exam conducted by the institute.

1.Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)
2.B. Tech/BE in Chemical/Mechanical or M. Sc. in Geology/ Geo Physics/ Physics with minimum 60% marks
