my question is that is GRE exam tough when compared to GATE exam or not

Both exams are completely different on pattern, but qualitatively GRE is a more conceptual paper and contains more than just mugged up theory or numericals. Scoring is also tougher there.

Both these exams are competitive exams. But the structure of these exams are different. Like for GMAT the questions will be based on area of specialisation during engineering. GRE is an aptitude oriented test. You can probably try solving any of the past papers to know in which area you are more comfortable.

* if you are comfort in proficiency English then gre is easy
*in gate the paper is an concentrated on maths physics and chemistry
*there i s no English

GATE is based on Indian Institutes and GRE is for the US grade schools .
According to me GATE is tougher than GRE exam .
Because the syllabus of GATE is too vast .The syllabus contains total technical curriculum .The standards of questions are so high .
But the quantitative part of GRE is so easy to answer .So it can be cracked so easily .The vocabulary part is little tough but if you can prepare yourself from Barron's word list than you can easily answer the vocabulary part .

gre is conducted for admission to us colleges.where as gatd conducted for post graduation in engg or say mtech.as both exam are of different kind.and.no similarity in any format.in tough ness level i will give 4 to both out of 5.

It's totally depends upon the candidate.
If candidate is very strong in English then GRE is easy for him.
If the candidate is very strong in special subjects then GATE is easy to him.

Could anyone tell me that which score would be a better score in GRE to get an admission into a better university in USA. Additionally, also mention the score [based on new GRE pattern]. as well as the cutoff score in it.

gre exam consists of quantitative aptitude and english..........quantitative aptitude is easy but english is little bit tough......compared to GATE it is a bit easier exam............

im doing my third year(6th sem). should i opt for gate or gre. if so gre then when should i apply for it and when should i take up the exam (in 2012)

can a person attempt both cat n gate at a time ?lyk is it possible ??as both or of diff streams ?

GATE is More technical oriented about your b.tech subjects. if you are good at technical subjects give GATE exam.
if ur strong in english and little week in technical u may go for GRE.

I'm btech 3nd year civil engineering .
I'm in confused state whether I should go through gate or gre?
After completion of my btech how would be my family economical situation is I don't know.
My plan is at that if situation is gd economically
I wanna go through gre else gate.
Here prob is my clg providing courses based or GRE and gate which course should I take?
