To become ACP one has to first be an IPS Officer . This is the Civil service of India IPS is abbreviated as Indian Police Service. To get into this service a candid have to clear a entrance examination which is conducted commonly for all the civil services like IAS /IPS/IFS/IRS/ISS etc. etc., This exam is conducted by UPSC : Union Public Service Commission. This exam is conducted once in a year. This exam is 1 and half year long procedure. The eligible candidates for this exam are the degree completed students who has a minimum age of 21 years and not exceeding 30 years. No other criteria is required to fulfill eligibility criterion of this examination. as you are the aspirant of IPS which is of Police department. you have to be physically fit and also should be like a spark. so you need to be very sharp in all the activities you do. The promotions for IPS officers will depend on their work. so your general knowledge and the knowledge on all parts of the life will be a asset to you. coming to the exam part there are three levels of filtering procedure i.e., ->Civil Services Aptitude Test ->Mains exam ->Personal Interview. One who wants this service has to clear all the three levels which I have mentioned above. after clearing you will get rank based on that rank you will get your desired service and cadre. after giving you the service based on that they will follow protocols like physical test , Medical test, Training and then posting. after getting experience you will get your desired position. there is no direct exam for the higher levels in the police department. highest exam for police department is IPS Exam. Hope everything goes well Regards |
