Re: How can I become an IAS officer if I am 5.4 tall?
You should not worry about height or any other physical criteria if applying for the Indian Administrative Service. There are no physical criteria for IAS entrance exam.
Physical criteria play role in Indian Police Service that due to the nature of work carried out by the IPS officer. There is no such issue with IAS. In fact the physically disabled candidates are allowed to appear for IAS entrance exam. So without worrying about the height criteria you should start preparing for the next year's exam. Unfortunately it won't be possible to appear for Civil Services Examination in 2013. If you are taking coaching that's great. However if preparing on your own then get the NCERT books for Class 12th. Along with it you shoudl watch a lot of news to remain updated with current affairs. Internet can also help you out with the preparations. You can take mock tests or download sample papers to solve. I will highly recommend you to solve the sample papers as it will help you identify weak areas. IAS Eligibility 1. Candidates from only India are selected. 2. Graduation degree is the necessary qualification. 3. There is no marks criteria. 4. The age limit to appear for exam is 21 to 30 years. 5. Age limit is extended to 33 years for OBC candidate. 6. Similarly the limit is extended to 35 years for SC and ST. Selection Procedure 1. Firstly you will have to appear for the Preliminary Exam that is conducted in May. Only upon clearing prelim you will be allowed to appear for next stage. 2. Couple of months later in August you will be appearing for Main Examination that includes 9 written tests. 3. Personal interview is the last stage of the selection Procedure. |
