Well I am happy that you have asked me this. Normally people are interested in GATE. Although this test is difficult to clear and the stipends are even more difficulty to get. So what you need to do is, look for the M.Tech admission advertisements given in newspapers. When there is one, you apply for that one. You secure the form from the college itself.Produce the educational certificate photocopies as needed. You become eligible for the M.Tech admission examination. You get a hall ticket. If you clear the admission test, then you become eligible for next level of interview. If you clear that too, then you get admitted in the M.Tech course.

You can get admission into M.Tech. without GATE score also but you have to apply for various entrance test that are conducted by state universities.

The one thing which is not good doing M.Tech. without GATE score is that you have to pay a high tution fee .

Those who qualify GATE get stipend if they do their M.Tech from a AICTE approved college.

If you are not GATE then also you will get admission in some college because there are many colleges offering M.Tech in India.

Just be careful that you get a good college because without GATE score it is difficult to find a good college.

Most of the good colleges offer admission to GATE score card holders only.

So take admission but only in good colleges otherwise there is no use of doing M.Tech from a sub standard college.
