i am interested to do mba in bioinformatics.whether this will help me to get a job ?or m.tech will be a better option to get a job?

informatics is not so much in use naymore nwdays due days however bioinformatics may be important in the medical field i cant say anything about it however i can assure that doing mba will garranty you a good job with an handsome package of salary thogh m tech is also not bad

As per my opinion you should go for MBA in bioinformatics as it is a better option instead of M.tech for getting good jobs ahead in future.

according to me mtech in bio informatics is better than mba in bio informatics .. because you can't be very successful with business when you study bio informatics .. but doing mtech can fetch you many jobs

Best option after B.TECH (Bioinformatics) is to go for Mtech in (bioinformatics)
with specialisation in Computational Biology or Drugs designing.

However,you can also opt for MBA it will also provide you promissing career opurtunities.

After MBA you will get executive jobs in areas like marketin,sale,manufactureing etc.

this course is really different from the other.
also after you can get a very good job option, in different company.
so i think really it is better option,

Hi... I'm doing B.Tech in Bioinformatics form VIT University. Well after reading your comment I just felt like inform you, that its ironic but Bioinformatics really doesnt finds any practical application in Indian Current market scenario. Its application is only limited to R&D Drug designing of pharmaceutical companies and Limited biotech companies... And owing to the established fact that til now Biotech hasnt been able to capture a considerable market so make it a commercial field in India atleast...


Thus I feel doing MBA after Bioinfo is a good career option. But yea if you are really interested in Bioinformatics, you should go for M.Tech, where your passion would only drive you...cause Job status dat time would be almost nill!!! its a fact... (After a Heuristic market study)

hi... i hav a dilemma as to pick mba o to persue ms in computer science after b.tech in bioinformatics( with comp sci honours). wat do u suggest s havin a better scope in future?

what jobs can we get after m.tech bioinformatics??and what can be the strating salaries??

it foolish to fall i n dilelemma after u complete ur course.. always drive your mind in the field u are passionate about.. i think m.b.a will help u fetch "real jobsd".. rather than hoping for better jobs in biotech market.. but if u are planning to build ur career in bioinfo get prepared for studying a few years more

you see, if you are interested to work with bioinformatics field then you must do mtech.

specially if you want to do research oriented jobs, then MTech is compulsary.

but if you are not interested to work in your engineering field, then it is essential to do MBA.

but one things you shoud remember, for getting promotion in company, MBA is essentially required.

doing mba is a very good choice of yours. All multinational companies demand for btech + mba because they need technical and management skills in single person. So you must go for mba.

Obviously it would create better job chances as compare to do other stream mba. You should opt mba in marketing so as to increase the chance of getting placed on campus. i.e. select marketing as a major subject in mba .

Great to see the support for MBA Bioinformatics but the question then comes,"are there any good colleges that offer MBA in Bioinformatics in India??"

hi im doing my btech bioinformatics 2nd year.. In India bio informatics has not been taken its position when compared to others. This field wont fetch that much job opportunity as well, even though its poroviding many research areas as well as as few jobs with minimum salary..
so how can we-the bio informaticians be able to secure there future in this field when no doors are opened in front??
Bio informaticians can even go for IT fields if they are good at information technology a-computer science.. India is providing only few colleges with mtech bioinformatics hat too having very limited seats ...
if we are doing our mba in bio informatics then it will be a challenge for us to make a stand in India where Bioinformatics have not made its place till date.
