Chennai: The seat matrix for the MBBS degree programme in government medical colleges in Tamil Nadu remains the same as last year with 1,625 seats.

But, you can rejoice at the fact that another 150 MBBS seats may be available in the private sector, as the Medical Council of India has approved 150 seats in Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute at Kancheepuram this year.

There are 1,653 seats allotted in 17 Government colleges for 2011 MBBS counselling...

in tamil nadu there are 17 government college and in this year 2011 total no. of seats available is 1653

There are 1653 seats in the 17 colleges for MBBS in Tamilnadu.

Given below some additional information about counselling --

Counselling starts for Differently abled and Sports quota - June 30, 2011.

Counselling for General and other Category - July 1 to 10, 2011.

For MBBS/BDS admission in Tamil Nadu :

The government medical colleges have 1398 medical seats in government colleges after after deducting the 15% seats of the all India quota and 291 seats in private colleges which will be filled up based on merit.

but this year seat will increased above 500

In Tamil Nadu, there are 15 govt. & 10 private colleges. There are 2865 MBBS seats.
