MBBS Colleges in Tripura
MBBS is a dream course of many students not only in any other parts of India, but also in the state of Tripura as well. This is because, medical profession is something that can offer not only respect in the society, but also offers a great sense of job satisfaction when helping patients to get out their health issues. Like in any other state in India, Tripura also has a heavy competition for medical seats particularly because of the limited number of medical colleges in the state.
Number of MBBS seats in Tripura:
There are two MCI approved medical colleges in the state and each of these college is permitted to admit 100 students per year for the MBBS course thereby making a total of 200 seats. Even though, there are 200 seats, some percentage of these seats are reserved for students belonging to other states. For the state quota seats, admission of students is done based on the marks secured by the students in the science group of higher secondary examination from the higher education board of the state of Tripura and on the basis of marks secured by them in Tripura Medical College MBBS Common Entrance Test. This examination as the name implies is conducted by the Tripura Medical College, which is one among the two MBBS colleges functioning from the state of Tripura.
Who are eligible to apply to the CET Examination?
Any candidate, who belongs to the state of Tripura and has completed 17 years of age and not more than 25 years of age as on the 31st of July of the year in which he/she applies are eligible to apply for the MBBS CET Examination provided they have secured not less than 45% of marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) with English, biology, chemistry and physics subjects at the higher secondary level.
