Reputed Universities offer Ph.D only by Regular mode.

But if you are still employed in Govt. sector, then you can do Ph.D in regular stream itself, provided you get a certificate from your office "No objection Certificate"

Attendance is compulsory and to be frank it is very difficult to find a Guide.
They are in high demand and can sponsor only 8 candidates at a time.

You can try in University of Madras, English Department or
Annamalai University, Chidambaram
Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore

Best Regards

I am an MA in Linguistics from Annamalai University. Am I eligible to do PhD directly without an MPhil? Please, any professor or students tell me about the same?
