Procedure of admission to M.Tech course in Aerospace Engineering
I passed my 10+2 level exam of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education this year. I wish to study Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mechanics in Bengal Engineering and Science University(BESU) at undergraduate level. After completing my bachelor degree course, could I appear in GATE to study M.Tech in this field? Is there any other way of admission to master degree course in Aerospace Engineering?

After completing my bachelor degree course, could I appear in GATE to study M.Tech in this field? Yes of course dear.....why not .........! Eligibility criteria for GATE is candidate should have passed B.Tech/B.E./M.sc in there respective streams with at lest 60% aggregate including all semesters. There is not limitation for number of attempts, one can appear for it upto age of 30 years, and GATE scores are valid for 2 years. If you are Desireous of persuing M.Tech from Best Institutes including BESU. Then a GATE score of 640+ and percentile of 96% can fetch you a seat in IIT's, NIT's and BESU also. Is there any other way of admission to master degree course in Aerospace Engineering? Yes but GATE is amongs the best, non other Entrance can guarantee you best Insitutes along with best Faculty, and best quality of education, best platform, and many more....... IF you are studing M.Tech then it is neccessary to persue it from best institute and for that you have to go through GATE. |

Re: Procedure of admission to M.Tech course in Aerospace Engineering
dear friend
If you are complete your bacholar degree with 60% marks in B.tech/B.E Or in M.sc, then definately you are eligible to appear in the GATE entrance exams. After clear the GATE entrance exams with good score, then you will get admission in M.Tech course in Aerospace Engineering in best colleges like IIT, Hindustan College Of Engineering. You can attempt GATE exmas upto the age of 30 years, you can attempt manny number of times in GATE exams and the marks of GATE exams is valid only two years. So, if you are interested to get admission in M.Tech course in Aerospace Engineering , then please appear the GATE exams and scored good marks. If you scored good marks then you will definately get good colleges......... |

You are right to some extent - you will have to write the GATE Exam after completing your B.Tech to get admission in M.Tech. But this BTech degree need not necessarily be in Aerospace Engineering itself...candidates with B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Naval Arichitecture, Electrical, Electronics/Electronics and communication, Automobile, Metallurgy/Metallurgy & Material Science with valid GATE score can also apply for M.Tech. program. For detailed info, check teh attachment.

Re: Procedure of admission to M.Tech course in Aerospace Engineering
Dear friend,
It is really appreciable the way you have chosen your career path..Aeronautical Engineering has got a very promising career. Definitely you can go for M.Tech in reputed institutes like IITs or BESU after you complete your B.Tech. For appearing at GATE, you must score 60% marks in your graduation level. Well there is no better way to go for M.Tech in aerospace engg other than appearing at GATE exam. Wish you best of luck for future... |

Well, B.sc Graduates can do B.Tech (Aerospace) from Institutes like- IGNOU etc. or Institutes/colleges which have tie up with any other university. For example- Pailan College of Management & Technology. But basically B.sc Graduate with specialisation in Mathematics, Electronics, Physics or General one I dont think B.sc/B.Tech (IT) or else will be acceptable. |
