NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to three wings of NDA i.e. Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The qualification needed for NDA is one who must be an unmarried Indian male within the age group of 16.5 to 19 years of age having either appeared for 12th final exam or passed from any stream.

The candidate having 12th qualification with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can apply for all the three wings of NDA and without PCM can only be eligible to apply for Indian Army wing of NDA. The candidate should be physically fit to join NDA.

The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force) F

After 12th standard you are eligible for NDA exam .But you have to fulfill the below criteria.

Educational Qualification:

(i) For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at the Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

Age:

Age should be between 16.5 to 19 years

You have passed 12th with 60% from a reconized board in pcm.
Age limit is 16.5 to 19 years.
You should be male,unmarried and indian citizen.
Height should be 165cm minimum
You should be physically as well as mentally fit.

You cannot give the NDA entrance exam unless and until you pass your class 12 board exam.

Here is the eligibility criteria for the NDA entrance exam:-


NDA entrance exam eligibility criteria:-
You should be minimum 12 pass out
age limit-16.5-19 yrs
you should be an unmarried citizen of india

Exam pattern:-
paper i is mathematics of 300 marks
paper ii is the general ability divided into two parts:-
part A is english of 200 marks
part B is general knowledge of 400 marks
so total 900 marks

Then there is the interview session which will yield you more marks

Physical standards for NDA :

>>You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
>>The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air-Force).
>>Your chest should be well developed, Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms.

Eye Sight Eligibility :


>>You should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses.
>>Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism.

Vision standard for Naval candidates:


>> Uncorrected without glass : 6/9
>> Corrected with glass : 6/6
>> Limits of Myopia : -0.75
>> Limits of Hypermetropia : +1.5
>> Binocular vision : III

Those who habitually wear spectacles are not eligible for Air Force, Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia, Color vision CP-I Hypermetropia : + 2.0 D Sph

After passing 12th with any stream you are eligible for N.D.A exam.

N.D.A. Exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice.
