Re: Scope of Mechanical engineering in the coming years?
Well, thats a nice but typical question..........! Well dear you have asked a Good question. Let me explain briefly. What is Mechanical Engineering? According to me It is the branch of Engineering which deals mainly with the application of physics and material science for developing.designing and maintaining Machines and Tools. Types/Branches/Sub-Branches of Mechnical Engineering Power plant Engineering. Automobile/Automotive Engineering. Aeronautical Engineering. Aerospace Engineering. Naval Architech Engineering. Tools & Machinery Engineering. Marine Engineering. Mechatronics Engineering. Robotics Engineering (In design and operating or we can say except Memory part). CAD/CAM/CAE. All these are directly or indirectly linked with Mechanical engineering and so called parts of it. Infact Mechanical Engineering is known as father and Electrical Engineering as the Mother of all engineering branches as said by a scientist of old age. Also Mechanical Engineering alone has 60 subjects. Quote:
Yeah, thats true. Mechanical Engineering is has Laborious and much Dedicated work profile. Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

Re: Scope of Mechanical engineering in the coming years?
Mechanical engineering is laborious as you have heard but not to worry of it .. labor here doesn't mean of physical it is said labor because it deals mostly with onsite and field work.
This branch guys don't work inside close doors they have a whole lot of things to explore and work with creativity . And as per the JOB prospect with growing heavy industries mechanical engineers have a great career ahead . |

Re: Scope of Mechanical engineering in the coming years?
Mechanical engineering is an evergreen field. The scope of mechanical engineering is going to increase in near future with more industrialisation & globalisation. Mechanical engineers remain always in demand because of its wide scope of application.
Mechanical engineers are required in both private & public sector industries of various types like automobile, chemical, electronics, steel plants, oil exploration and refining, technical wings of armed forces, space research organisation, etc. As a mechanical engineering freshers you could join government sector as Junior Engineers and go up the ladder as Assistant Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Executive Engineers, Superintendent Engineers and so on. |

Dear friend ,
Mechanical Engineering finds application in all fields of technology. It is one of the primitive branches of Engineering which have remained always in demand and continue to be in the future. This is why Mechanical trade is called as an Evergreen trade (branch). Mechanical engineers have always been needed as an essential staff personnel in various industries of both public and private sector. Best wishes!!!!!!!! |

Re: Scope of Mechanical engineering in the coming years?
dear friend,
see friend you are confused between computer science and mechanical.According to me that is totally depend upon you.If you fell comfort in computer then choose computer science. But if want to work with machinery then choose mechanical. There are so many drawing and lead h work in mechanical department. No doubly both stream are tough but which you feel comfort and choose this.In reference jobs now-a-days it is very much hard to tell you that which stream has job opportunity better. But if you have a well educational qualification then don't take pressure. My last suggestion to you go for Computer Science & Engineering. good luck. |

Re: Scope of Mechanical engineering in the coming years?
without labor and hard work you can not go so far in your career. whatever branch you will choose you have to do hard work to reach in top of the career.
obviously in mechanical engineering the physical is much more than the computer science engineering. but in computer science engineering brain work is much higher and also work load in IT industry or software industry is very high than mechanical engineering branch. scope of mechanical engineering is very high. some time mechanical is called evergreen branch of engineering because of it's continuing good scope. there are so many company those recruit mechanical engineer in various post. some of the companies are L& T, TATA, Mahindra, Indian railway etc. in higher study also mechanical engineering face a good advantage. there are so many subject in higher study and also do many institution offer mechanical engineering In India. one more advantage if you choose mechanical engineering that you may built your career in IT field even after passing out from mechanical engineering. TCS, CTS etc leading IT company also recruit software engineer from mechanical engineering also. so after two years of mechanical engineering if you think that you want to built your career in IT field then concentrate on computer subject and computer programing and try to get job in software field. surely you will get good job. best of luck. |

This is why Mechanical trade is called as an Evergreen trade (branch). Mechanical engineers have always been needed as an essential staff personnel in various industries of both public and private sector. Their work criteria changes according to the type and domain of the company they are working with.As the Industrial sector has drastically risen in pace, the need for more mechanical engineers has increased exponentially. Every manufacturing and production industry needs mechanical engineers to carry out jobs efficiently and flawlessly for their companies.
As the Working criteria of a mechanical Engineer changes according to the type and domain of the company they are working with and field of specialisation we can broadly say that a mechanical Engineer works how to Design and control a system that goes into the process of manufacturing the machinery and product. He tests new systems for feasibility and efficiency and carries out Quality management and improvement process. Mechanical engineers work in the automotive, aerospace, chemical, computer, communication, paper, and power generation industries. Mechanical engineers will be found in virtually any manufacturing industry. Increasingly, mechanical engineers are needed in the environmental and bio-medical fields. Indeed virtually every product or service in modern life has probably been touched in some way by a mechanical engineer. : Mechanical Engineers have to study a whole lot of physics, Engineering drawing, machine drawing and many more concepts such as Statics Dynamics Kinematics Strength of Materials Materials Science Theory of Machines Thermodynamics Fluid Mechanics Heat Transfer Manufacturing Machine Design Electrical Circuits Laboratory Methods Vibrations Engineering Economics Metallurgy Manufacturing Process. Computer Aided Design/ Drafting (CAD) Automobile Engineering Industrial Automation and Robotics Pay Scale: Although Pay Scales are dependent on the type of organization you are selected in. A small and medium industries or companies hire Mechanical Engineers starting Rs 15,000/- to 20,000/- per month. Large companies such as L&T and several other MNCs give a package of Rs 15000/- to Rs 35000/- per month to fresh Mechanical graduates. Career Scope and Placement Prospects: It has a tremendous scope in automobile engineering, cement industry, steel, power sector, Hydraulics, Manufacturing plants, Drilling and mining Industry, Petroleum, Aeronautical, Biotechnology and many more. With its wide scope of application, mechanical engineers remain always in demand, no matter which part of the world. You can also find job very easily in the following public sector industries such as Indian Railways, Indian Air force (Technical), Indian Army, Thermal power corporations etc… |

Re: Scope of Mechanical engineering in the coming years?
There is a wide scope for mechanical engineering worldwide.mechanical engineers are the second highest employed engineers among all others with only 7% unemployed whereas any normal engineering stream would have around 15% unemployed engineers worldwide.we have the automobile industry, oil and gas production companies, aeronautical field, cement industries, design sector, chemical industries, heavy machinery sector, information technology, defense and above all the booming construction field always waiting on for mechanical engineers with lucrative pays and packages.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;718507]iam going to study mechanical engineering or electrical engineering but i have one doubt which is better![/QUOTE
Now a days mechanical engineers get the more values in the industry side. so you can prefer a mechanical engineering. Now all the software companies are hiring the mechanical engineer also. so there is a lot of chance for mechanical people to go in both software and core fields... It is a ever green field............ good luck..... |
