Re: Is there any option in GATE to choose the subjects?
Of course there are options.
Actually, there is no restriction at all that you have to select GATE paper according to your stream only. You can select any paper which you like opt as GATE paper. For admission to a particular M.Tech. program one is required to have one of the listed back ground and should have qualified GATE with a particular paper. Visit the following three links to understand this thing very well. http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in/gpgms.php http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in/gelig.php#table1 http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in/gelig.php#table3 |

Re: Is there any option in GATE to choose the subjects?
Yes there are many options to choose in GATE see if u are good in chemistry then choose life science and if u are good in maths then choose biotech. In life science chemistry is compulsory and u can choose between botany, zoology, biochem and microbio. in biotech no such options. Choose wisely based on ur capability.

Re: Is there any option in GATE to choose the subjects?
It is not possible to select the subjects rather it will be alloted according to the discipline or the stream you chose to write for the exam.
For eg, if you are an engineering student with ECE discipline then you should choose ECE as your stream and you will be given around ten subjects which you had completed in your academic degree. For more details about the gate exam, visit the following site: http://www.gateforum.com/FAQ_GATE.php |

As you appear in the B.tech degree the many streams are in the graduation.
So as well as in the Gate exam the further division of the stream in the sub stream. You read those subject in the B.tech according to your stream the main particular subject of those stream is in the chosen by you in the qualifying exam of the GATE. |

Re: Is there any option in GATE to choose the subjects?
The students with bachelor’s degree in architecture, technology and engineering or Master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer can apply for the master’s/doctoral degree they are eligible for. This time for the candidates applying for Textile Engineering & Fibre Science and Mining Engineering there will be an online examination while for others it will be normal paper based test. There are plenty of books available in the market to get better knowledge about all streams which help to gather best knowledge about their subject.
