What is the age limit for IAS and other civil services exams?

For civil service exams the candidate should have age between 21 and 30 years. The candidates under the OBC category have an age relaxation up to 3 years and should be between 21 years and 33 years. The age relaxation for candidates under SC/ST category is upto 5 years i.e the age should be between 21 years and 35 years. If the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989 there is an age relation of 5 years. For ex-service man also there is an age relaxation of 5 years.

Information Regarding Age Criteria of IAS and Other Civil Services Examination.

The Civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year. To appear in the civil services examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification = Graduation in any stream from a recognize University. The final year graduation student are also eligible to apply for the Civil services examination.

Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination, The age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates.

Age Relaxation For Reservation Category Candidates.
->For SC/ST candidates :- 5 years on the upper age limit.
->For OBC Candidates :- 3 years on the upper age limit.
->For PD candidates :- 10 years on the upper age limit.
->Foe Ex-service man :- 5 years on the upper age limit.

Dear pal,
those aspiring to join the civil service need to write the exam conducted by the UPSC. Those candidates who are eligible can apply either online or offline. The eligibility requirement are
1. The aspirant should have completed bachelor degree in any discipline of interest
2. The aspirant should have completed 21 years of age .
3. The aspirant of general category not have exceeded 30 years of age, for obc it is 33. And for aspirant of sc and st category the upper limit is 35
within the age limit the aspirant can appear only a limited times. For a general candidates the number of attempts is restricted to 4, for obc aspirants the number of attempts is 7. But there is no restriction for sc and st candidates.
The selection procedure for the IAS exam involves
written exam
personnel interview.
The written exam involves preliminary and main exam . Those who clear preliminary exam are eligible for main exam.
