Re: What is the educational qualification for NET entrance exam?
The National Eligibility Test is the entrance exam conducted by the University Grants Commission for two purpose, Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship. The lecturers for central government funded colleges are selected through NET entrance exam.
There is no direct way to become lecturer in government college. National Eligibility Test as the name suggests, is the national level entrance exam. On the other hand each state also conducts a entrance exam on similar lines which is called State Eligibility Test. You can only apply for the National Eligibility Test if completed minimum of post graduation degree. Without that you are not eligible for it. Apart from degree you are also required to meet various other criteria which I have mentioned little below. If you meet this criteria only then apply for the National Eligibility Test. You will be able to appear for NET in June and December. It is conducted in these two months every year. NET Eligibility 1. It is necessary that you are citizen of India. 2. You should have obtained a post graduation degree. 3. Minimum marks in that degree should be 55%. 4. Although SC/ST will get relaxation and therefore need 50%. 5. You will be able to apply while studying final year of the post graduation. 6. You should only apply if confident of meeting percentage and could submit the degree in 2 years. 7. Subject for NET depends of your post graduation degree. 8. There is age limit of 19 to 28 years for JRF. 9. The age limit for OBC is 19 to 31 years. 10. SC/ST can apply from 19 years to 33 years. 11. You should be minimum of 19 years old for lectureship. 12. Unlike JRF, there is no upper age limit for lectureship. |
