A candidate belonging to open category must have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. other than this your entrance exam rank will be taken into account. for government colleges you have to score good. approximate cut off varies from one college to another.

ELIGIBILITY criteria:

The cut off mark in your HSC should be

for OC:200
for BC:197-200
for MBC:197-195
for SC/ST:189-195

to enter into govt medical colleges.This is an expected cutoff list for 2012.

You can also apply for other medical entrance exams....
like AIMPT,AIIMS etc
