NDA :- National Defence Academy Examination.

This examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Twice in a year as namely NDA I and NDA II.

Minimum qualification for NDA examination is Intermediate(12th) examination from a recognized School or equivalent examination and final year of 12th examination may also eligible.

NDA examination is conducted for admission to Army wings,Navy wings and Air force course.

To join in Army wings,then the candidate need to completed Intermediate(12th) examination in Science or commerce from a recognized School or equivalent qualification.Candidates who are appearing in the 12th examination can also eligible to apply for NDA examination.

To join in Navy wings or Air force wings,then the candidate need to completed 12th examination with physics and mathematics from a recognized School or equivalent qualification.There is no percentage bar required to apply for NDA examination.

Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy examination.

The minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms(162.5 cms for Air force).

NDA - Stands for National Defence Academy

This examination is conducted by the Union public service commission (UPSC) twice in a year.

As my knowledge there are some basic and important eligibility criteria are described below-

AGE: - Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

NOTE: - Only unmarried males are eligible.

Educational Qualification : - candidates must passed 10+12th with Physics and Maths and have to minimal 60% in 10th.

Those are completed 12th standard without science group are eligible for NDA exam in the department of Indian Army.

NOTE : - Candidates must be physically and medically fit for the NDA test.

for appearing NDA examination ,Candidates should be a following eligibilty criteria :
1.for army wing of national defence acdemy : 12th class pass pf the 10+2 pattern of school education or equinalent examination conducted by state education board or a University
2.For Air force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 course at the naval academy:-12th class pass 10+2 pattern of school education or equilvalent with physics and mathematics conducted by state education board or a University

Dear Friend,
The NDA examination is conducted by the UPSC. The examination is conducted twice in a year. The examination is conducted for admission in the Air Force Wing, Navy Wing and Army Wing of NDA.
Eligibility Criteria:-
To apply for the Air Force and Navy Wing A candidate should has passed 10+2 With 60% marks and subject combination Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
A 10+2 final year appearing candidate can also apply.
For The Army Wing the candidates can have just passed 10+2 in any stream.

The age limit criteria for the NDA examination is that the candidate should has age between 16.5 years to 19 years.

NDA stand for National Defence Academy. The minimum qualification for NDA are as fallows:
The candidate appear in 10+2 are eligible.
The candidate should be unmarried.
The age of candidate must be 16.5 years.
The minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cm.

NDA - National Defense Academy is an All India Examination which is conducted by the UPSC every year to recruit students for the three wings of Indian defense namely Army, Navy and Air Force.


The Basic Educational qualification which is required for any candidate to sit for NDA are :

• You should be an Indian Male Unmarried Citizen.

• You should be a minimum 12th pass from any recognized school or state board in India like CBSE, ICSE, etc...

• No percentage criteria is mentioned in the latest notification.

• Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years in the year of applying.

• You should be physically fit and be matching the standards mentioned by the NDA.

If you satisfy these, then you are surely eligible to apply for this exam.


The 2012 NDA notification has been out on 31st Dec 2011. Please fill in the application if you wish to apply, on or before 30th January 2012.


The exam is scheduled on 15th April 2012 which is a Sunday.

NDA i.e. National Defence Academy

Eligibility Criteria for NDA is 12th Class / Equivalent passed certificate conducted by State Board / Universities.
Candidate appearing can also apply.

Age limit 16.5 to 19 years


A candidate has to go through three stages :

Written examination conducted by UPSC
Interview by SSB to test officer potentialities
Medical Test by a Service Medical Board.

Scheme of the Examination

Papers will be objective type. Medium of examination is English only.

Syllabus for Entrance Examination
Paper I - Mathematics : (Maximum Marks 300)
Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics.
Paper II - General Ability
Part A - English (Maximum Marks 200)
Part B - General Knowledge (Maximum Marks 400)

APPLICATION FORM are published by the UPSC at interval of six months,
i.e. April / May and October / November in all the local newspapers and Employment News.
