As you are wishing to join Indian Army you can did it by Two Ways by applying Either of 1). NDA Exam OR 2). CDS Exam......

NDA stands for National Defense Academy

This exam is conducted by UPSC twice in Year....


If you have completed your 12th std from recognized Board then you are eligible for Indian Army wing. Final years of 12th std students also eligible for this exam. there is no percentage of marks Criteria....


Age of candidate should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years...


Only Unmarried Male are eligible for it. girls are not eligible for this exam....


A Candidate have nationality of INDIA...



Exam Pattern:

1. Prelim Exam
2. Main Exam
3. Physical Test & Personal Interview

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service

This exam conducted by UPSC twice every year...

If you have completed Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for Combined Defence Service exam.


Final years of graduation degree students also eligible for this exam. there is no percentage of marks Criteria...


Both male & female candidates are eligible for this exam...


A Candidate have nationality of INDIA...


Age Limit -


For Indian Military Academy : 19-24 Years..

For Air Force Academy : 19-23 Years..

For Naval Academy : 19-22 Years..

For Officers’ Training Academy :19-25 Years...

One can join Indian Army after 12th or graduation. In both cases, applicant must be unmarried and male. NDA is the gateway to join army after HSC. Graduates need to qualify CDSE to join army. In both cases, UPSC carry out the selection process and hence further details can be collected from its official website.

You can join in Indian army in after 12th standard and After Graduation degree, So if you have completed 12th then you can attend in NDA exam .If you have completed Graduation degree then you are applicable for CDS exam .Details of two exams are given below-

National defence academy is conducted by union public service commission twice in a year to recruits the candidates in Army, Navy & Air Force wings of National Defence Academy.

Those candidate have completed 12th standard are applicable for NDA Exam Without having Mathematics and Physics subject student are eligible for NDA exam but you can apply only Indian Army post .NDA exam not require any percentage marks of the candidate.

The candidate age should between 16.5 years to 19 years.There is no age relaxation for Sc/ST candidate . Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply. You must have Citizenship of India. center .

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service . UPSC Conduct CDS Examination for twice in a year .

Educational Qualification:-

For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering for CDSE and Degree in Engineering or B.Sc. ( with Physics or Mathematics ) for NCC entry.
For Air Force Academy : Degree of recognized University ( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level ) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Age Criteria:-

Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy: - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy: - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy: - 19-25 Years
