Selection to IPS is conducted through two stages, prelims or CSAT and mains. CSAT exams are usually conducted in the month of May. This year also, you can expect the exam by this time. Graduation is the basic qualification required. Age of the candidate must be less than 30 years.

IPS stands for Indian Police service.IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam .

Graduation degree with minimum percentage marks from any discipline.Final year candidate can also applicable for IPS Exam.Not required any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree .

The Candidate age should be in between 21 years to 30 years . Age Relaxation for OBC candidate is 3 years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

IPS exam is consist of 3 process - Preliminary Exam . Mains Exam and Personal Interview .

You cam choose two optional subject to given below.Prepared well this two subject because subjective papers are too tough .

I.P.S exam is also called as civil services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Indian Police Service is conducted through Civil Service Examination. The exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

Now the dates of 2013 exams are already out but if you haven't submitted the forms, then you can not appear for the entrance exam. The forms for the Civil Services Examination are made available towards the end of the year or at the beginning of new year.

This year the last date to apply for the Civil Services Examination was March 4. Unfortunately you can not apply for the exam now. However if you have applied then please start preparing for the first set of exams.

First set of written exams are called Preliminary exam. It is conducted in May/June of the year. Here the goal is to only pass the exam to appear in second set of written tests.

Preliminary Exam will be conducted on May 19, 2013.

Main Exam is the second set of written tests that are conducted in August/September. Only candidates who have cleared the preliminary exams are eligible for the main examination.

The final tally of score is calculated based on your performance in 9 written tests conducted in main examination. The marks of preliminary exam are not added to the final tally of score.


IPS Eligibility

1. Most importantly, candidate has to be citizen of India.

2. He should possess bachelor degree.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. Your age should be between 21 to 30 years.


Age Relaxation

1. Three years in upper age limit for OBC.

2. Five years in upper age limit for SC/ST.

To apply for the Post of IPS you have to appear in the UPSC Civil Servicres Exams.
