No, you will not be eligible to get a government job after 38 years of age.

The eligibility criteria required to apply for government job are as under :-

-Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

-Candidate must have passed Bachelor's degree form any recognized university.

-Candidate must be below 30 years of age .

No, you are not eligible to get government job being a 38 years old candidate as far as my knowledge is concerned. The mean reason why you are not eligible to get job in government sector is that you belong to General or Unreserved category. Yes, this is reason why you are not eligible to get job in government sector. The maximum age requires basically varies from examination to examination.

>> For Clerical Cadre:
Maximum Age allowed - 28 years

>> For CGL Exam conducted by SSC:
Maximum Age allowed - 27 years

>> For IAS Examination:
Maximum Age allowed - 35 years

>> For PO/ MT Cadre:
Maximum Age allowed - 30 years

As the maximum age allowed is less than 35 years for almost all the jobs, you are not eligible to apply for the government jobs with 38 years. If you belong to SC/ ST/ OBC category...then you would have got some age relaxation.

The maximum age to apply for government jobs is 30 to 32 years for general category candidate. In case of SC/ST category candidates, there is an upper age relaxation of 5 years and for OBC candidates, it is 3 years. So, being a 38 years old General Category, you are not eligible to get a government job.

I am sorry to say that you are way too aged to avail a government job at your current age as the maximum age to opt for government jobs is 30-32 years in almost all cases. Therefore, you are too aged to opt for government job now.

Yes, you are eligible for government sector jobs like West Bengal School Service Commission exam at the age of 40 years.

If you have completed bachelor degree from a recognized university then you are eligible for WBSSC exam. You must have valid B.Ed score.

Only Indian citizenship candidate are eligible for this exam.

Your age should be in between 20 to 40 years.
