There is nothing much to worry in getting into banking sector with medical background. There are many posts which you can apply based on the vacancy of the post in the respected bank. Having told you are from medical background which means having completed Degree you can apply for Bank PO post. There are many banks which are conducting exam for this post and the eligibility criteria may change from bank-bank.

Eligibility Needed:

# Candidate should have a citizenship in India

# Age limit needed is 21-30 years and there are relaxation for other category candidates such as for SC/ST it is 21-35 years and for OBC it is 21-33 years

# Educational qualification needed is candidate need to have completed a degree and that can be in any stream with at least 60% aggregate and you must have some basic knowledge on computers.

If you satisfy them all then you can apply for the Bank exam.

Whatever your background that's not an issue. However, you must have some basic knowledge and skill about Banking sector and you must appear and qualify in the entrance exam conducted by the respective bank. If your Graduate then you are eligible to apply for IBPS Bank PO or Clerk exam.

The Selection process for IBPS PO or Clerk exam is based on Written exam, Group Discussion and Interview.

- Graduation is the minimum educational qualification required to apply for Bank PO or Clerk exam and final year students are eligible to apply.

- Students should not be more than 30 Years and not less than 20 years and upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC, Ex-Servicemen candidates will be granted age relaxation as per Govt. directives.

The eligibility to get the banking jobs such as of Clerk and PO is :-
* Candidate must have passed the graduation from the recognised university.
* Candidate age must be between 19-28 years and three years relaxation for the 0BC, five for the SC/ST.

Yes, it is possible that you can make your career in Banking sector with Medical background. In order to join in Banking sector you must appear and qualify in the IBPS Clerk or PO examination conducted by Common Written Exam (CWE). Any stream Graduate students are eligible to apply. Yes you can apply for Banking Industry with Medical back ground but it will take some more time to crack the examination. Since you were very strong in Medical back ground where as Banking Industry is completely with Maths based Sector.
