Whether my daughter will be treated as NRI student or local student?
Dear Sir
My daughter has studied upto class IX in India in KVS in different states. Then we moved to Oman and she has studied class X in Indian School in Muscat. This year I have recently shifted her Hyderabad for studying class XI. Will she be treated as NRI student or local student? Kindly tell me the rules of NRI student & local student and how they will be classified? Regards |

Re: Whether my daughter will be treated as NRI student or local student?
If your daughter has spent a total of 181 days out of the country in the last year then she will be treated as an NRI Student.
This is the only criteria that is set.Once a student spends more than 181 days out of the country in the last year then that student will be considered an NRI. So yo will have to judge it yourself from the number of days she was with you Abroad in the last year. Once in a calendar session she is in the country for a total of 181 days she will be again considered as a local student. So if she has spent 181 days away from the country the at the time of her admission now back in India she will be considered as an NRI Student. |
