Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is a sign of excellence in the field of science, technology engineering and research in India. There are seven IITs in India at- Kanpur, madras, Roorkee, Kharagpur and Guwahati. The knowledge and skills provided by the Institute are comparable to the best milestones established in the world of education and research. The Institute gives the best facilities to its students in terms of education, research, laboratories and curriculum planning. It has collaborations with other institutions of academy and research all over the country and abroad universities.

There are 13 departments in IIT Delhi, namely computer science & engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, civil engineering, mechanics, chemistry etc.

IIT provides courses for under-graduate degree and post graduate degree.

Admission to Under-graduate degree requires a candidate to fulfil the eligibility criteria and qualify in the merit list of Joint Entrance Examination commonly known as JEE conducted by the institute, all over India.

There are also some cultural Exchange Fellowship Programmes offered by the Institute for which scholarship holders are nominated by Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India, directly to the Institute.

Admission in post graduate programs requires satisfying the eligibility criteria and qualifying GATE- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering- exam.

In the field of research and development, IIT has set up industrial R&D to provide managerial and administrative support for research.

IIT has its central library and 18 departmental libraries which provide a highly rich collection of books on engineering, research, humanities etc., and journals, CDs, theses, technical reports, book bank and other library services via various divisions.

IIT also has a facility called Student Activity Center abbreviated as SAC which is for the Students recreation. It is intended to encourage students for extracurricular activities. It has gymnasium, pool room, courts, music rooms, swimming pool, theatre and other activities to help students rejuvenate.

IIT Delhi has its campus in Hauz Khas, South Delhi. The campus is of 320 acres.

IIT provides hostel facility with about 12 hostels in all- 9 boy’s hostels and 3 girl’s hostels.

    i passed the 10th exams in 2003 and +2 exams(I.sc)passed in 2010.may i appeared in the entrance exam of JEE in 2011?
